Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto has been elected the 80th Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta.
With estimates of over a million refugees now on Colombian soil, Malteser International Americas announced it is providing emergency relief along the Colombian-Venezuelan border in northern La Guajira to prevent the prolongation of this humanitarian crisis. Mobile health teams will provide medical care, distribute hygiene materials and perform vaccinations and food will be given to refugees, especially focussing on undernourished children and pregnant women.

On International Children’s Day the Sovereign Order of Malta and the Embassy of the Czech Republic organized a conference in Rome, for raising awareness to the subject of children who are victims of armed conflicts. The Order of Malta used this event to emphasize the pressing need to extend particular care to the children, who remain the first victims of wars and persecutions in armed conflicts around the world.
On June 1st, 2017, International Children’s day, the Sovereign Order of Malta and the Embassy of the Czech Republic to the Order and to the Holy See will be hosting the international conference entitled “Children victims of armed conflicts”
