On 12 July, the Order of Malta Mission to the United Nations in New York organized a reception to celebrate many of the young interns currently attending the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
The Permanent Observer Mission of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the United Nations Headquarters, New York City, welcomes young members and volunteers of the Order to apply for full-time unpaid internships. Interns are typically accepted for 3 month periods over the fall, winter and spring months. On Monday, November 12, the Permanent Observer Mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta, together with the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the UN, Mountbatten Institute and the Priory in the USA of the Order of St. John, held a concert in commemoration of the Centenary of the End of World War I.
The agreement of the Global Compact for Migration will be formally adopted by Member States at an Intergovernmental Conference, which will be held in Marrakesh, Morocco, on 10 and 11 December with a high level delegation of the Order of Malta present. The global compact for migration is the first, intergovernmentally negotiated agreement, prepared under the auspices of the United Nations, to cover all dimensions of international migration in a holistic and comprehensive manner.
On November 9th the UN Mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta co-sponsored a conference at UN HQ addressing the topic of “Practical Solutions to Eradicate Human Trafficking”.
