Sri Lanka Mission in New York supports Craft as a medium for peace building

On the sidelines of the 67th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67), the Sri Lanka Mission in New York, in association with the Association of War Affected Women, the International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN) and Gender, Justice and Security Hub of the London School of Economics (LSE) hosted the event “Craft as a medium for peace building, building back better the societies in South Asia that women live, work, and belong to”.

The Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in New York organized a virtual event to celebrate the first World Seagrass Day today (1 March 2023).  This Day was designated through the adoption by consensus the General Assembly Resolution on World Seagrass Day sponsored by Sri Lanka, on 23 May 2022. This resolution was also cosponsored by 24 other member states.

The Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in New York celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Independence Day of Sri Lanka, led by the Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations, Ambassador Mohan Pieiris, and staff of the Mission, and joined by many Sri Lankans living in the tri-state area.
