For 11 years now, the United States of America has been persisting in its hostile approach and subversive policies towards the Syrian Arab Republic, through its use of all tools of war against it, starting from campaigns of incitement, misinformation and deception, to investing in terrorist organizations and separatist militias, to direct occupation and the imposition of unilateral coercive measures.

That came during the reception by the President of Chile for the presidents, ministers, and representatives of the countries that attended the President’s inauguration ceremony which took place at the Building of the National Congress of Chile in the city of Valparaíso on Friday.
Syria and the Commonwealth of Dominica signed on Monday an agreement on establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The signing ceremony of the agreement took place at the Permanent Mission of the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Nations in New York.
The agreement was inked by Ambassador Bassam Sabbagh, Permanent Representative of Syria to the United Nations, and Loreen Bannis-Roberts, Permanent Representative of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the United Nations.
On the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony, Ambassador Sabbagh met with Nicaraguan Foreign Minister, Denis Moncada as the two sides discussed the bilateral relations between both countries and means to develop and strengthen them in various domains, including the ways of benefiting from the expertise of both countries in overcoming all challenges facing them.

Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Faysal Mikdad briefed Syrian citizens in the US on the efforts exerted by the Syrian government to restore security and stability all over the country and rebuild what has been destroyed by terrorism in a way that contributes to the return of the displaced and refugees to their Home.

Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, met in New York with the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, and expressed his satisfaction with the priorities that the latter set in his opening speech before the General Assembly, especially achieving just peace in the world, bridging the gap between the rich and poor countries, the equitable distribution of anti-Covid 19 vaccines, and confronting climate change.

Foreign and Expatriates Minister Faysal Mikdad met UN Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen who briefed him on the efforts exerted in the context of facilitating the convening of the 6th round of the Committee for Discussing the Constitution, referring to the meetings and communications he has conducted recently in this regard.
For his part, Mikdad stressed that the committee has to work under Syrian leadership and ownership , and pave the way for its members to discuss issues related to the committee’s work without any foreign interference.
