Foreign Secretary Ravinatha Aryasinha said post 21/4 has been a ‘litmus test’ on Sri Lanka’s resolve to adhere to human rights standards, while fighting terrorism, and also to determine the robustness and shortcomings of the democratic institutions that have been strengthened in recent years.

The Emergency Regulations that was in force will not be extended.

In keeping with the powers vested on the President under Section No 12 of the Public Security Ordinance, Security Forces will be utilized to assist the police to maintain public security, law and order in each district.

The ‘World Youth Skills Day 2019’ was celebrated for the fifth consecutive year on 15th July 2019 at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
