The UAE Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations which allows the UAE to offer its nationals expert to work with the UN Secretariat and the entities that it administers.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, has met with Bernardino Leon, Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) on the sidelines of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly.

During the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the United Arab Emirates Mission to the United Nations, the parties discussed the latest developments in Libya and the important role played by the United Nations and its mission to provide support to Libya and help it to achieve security and stability.

H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, UNHCR Eminent Advocate for Refugee Children, has emphasised the importance of the international community taking action to put an end to the suffering of refugee women and children around the world.

She also stressed that refugee rights should be a top priority for the international community, resulting in the availing of decent life conditions for them, and more importantly, hope for the future.

A historic agreement of collaboration between Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP) and American Cancer Society (ACS), has recently been signed in the presence of H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Founder and Royal Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients charity (FoCP), International Ambassador of the World Cancer Declaration for Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and International Ambassador for Childhood Cancer for UICC.
