A Conference to mark the first ever World Youth skills Day was held today (15 July 2015) at the UN headquarters in New York. The event was organized by the Permanent Missions of Sri Lanka and Portugal. UNESCO, ILO, and Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth also supported the efforts of the two missions in convening this event.
Sri Lanka ratified the United Nations Convention on the Use of Electronic Communications in International Contracts and deposited the Instrument of Ratification at a ceremony held this morning (07 July 2015) in the UN Treaty Section. Sri Lanka today deposited the instrument of ratification of UN Protocol to prevent, suppress and punish trafficking in persons, especially women and children which is commonly called as the Trafficking Protocol of the Palermo Protocols, at a ceremony held in the UN Treaty Section, today.
