Following is the text of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s video message on the anniversary of Mongolia’s democratic transition, observed 29-30 July 2015:

Your Excellency, Mr. Elbegdorj Tsakhia, President of Mongolia, Excellencies, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to join you in celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of Mongolia’s transition to democracy.  I commend the Mongolian people for your determination and contribution to your country’s democratic path.  I saw some of that progress during my unforgettable visit to Mongolia in 2009.

On May 15, 2015, representatives of the Permanent Mission of Mongolia to the United Nations participated in the Multicultural Day Celebration of the Children's Aid College Preparatory School in Bronx, NY, and introduced various aspects of the Mongolian culture, history and national symbols to the Third Grade students.

The Permanent Mission of Mongolia volunteered to support activities of the Children's Aid Society which has worked to establish community schools focusing on children in high needs neighborhoods for more than 20 years.

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Fifth Ministerial Meeting of the Online Freedom Coalition (FOC) was held on May 4-5 at the State House in Ulaanbaatar.

The opening remarks were made by Mr Ts.Elbegdorj, the President of Mon­golia, and by L.Purevsuren, Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, under topics “Internet Policy: Best practices in pro­moting online freedom”, and “Liberal and Reliable internet communication, Electronic technology development and transparency, Individual privacy in on­line environment and transparency”.
