Initiatives of Uzbekistan and their role in strengthening the Shanghai Cooperation Organization

As one of the founding countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Uzbekistan along with other Member States defines the development strategy of the SCO. Since its establishment in 2001 due to efforts made by our country in this direction significant progress has been achieved in improving the activities of the organization, particularly, the establishment and strengthening of fruitful cooperation between its members, as well as with other global and regional institutions.

On 15 April the Cabinet of Ministers held a session, dedicated to the results of socio-economic development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the first quarter of the this year and the appraisal of the implementation of the major directions and priorities of economic program for 2016, defined by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the governmental session on 15 January of the current year.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan announces the accreditation of the media representatives for coverage of the Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization which will take place on May 2016 in Tashkent.
