Meeting al-Moallem, Rouhani : Iran has always stood by Syria and it will continue to support it

Tehran, SANA- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday discussed with Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem the terrorism facing the region.

President Rouhani said that those who established the terrorist organizations and supported them must stop this, indicating that Syria is able to face terrorism through the steadfastness of its people and army.

He stressed that his country has always stood by Syria and it will continue to support it.

For his part, Minister al-Moallem reviewed the dimensions of the conspiracy hatched against Syria and the role played by some regional and Western countries which are known for supporting terrorist organizations, calling for exerting more pressure on them to halt this support.

Al-Moallem affirmed that Syria will continue to defeat terrorism and will restore peace and security through the resilience of its people, army and leadership.

He expressed Syria’s thanks to Iran for supporting it in various domains.

Al-Moallem briefs Shamkhani on the Israeli aggression targeting Syria

Minister al-Moallem also met Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani on Tuesday, briefing him on the Israeli aggression targeting Syria as part of the conspiracy led by regional and western state to undermine Syria’s steadfastness.

Talks during the meeting tackled bilateral relations, with al-Moallem expressing gratitude for Iran’s support to Syria.

For his part, Shamkhani asserted that Iran will continue to support Syria in combating the terrorism of ISIS and Jabhet al-Nusra and other terrorist organizations.
