PRESIDENT ELBEGDORJ PLANTED TREES IN ASEM VILLA GARDEN

The President of Mongolia issued a Decree in 2010, to celebrate the National Tree Planting Day in Mongolia every second Saturday of May and October. Today, citizens and organizations of Mongolia marked this Day for the 15th time planting trees. 

The President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj planted spruces in the garden of the ASEM Villa. Also, experts and civic representatives of the discussion “People’s Word” contributed to the National Tree Planting Day, planting trees in the ASEM Villa garden. 

A new garden is being built near the ASEM Villa where some events of the 11th ASEM Summit were held. 

The President together with citizens planted 53 various trees including larches, spruces, bird-cherry trees and shrubs. These 53 trees symbolize the number of foreign participants of the 11th ASEM Summit in Ulaanbaatar, in July 2016. During the ASEM Summit, Heads of State and Government of 51 countries of Asia and Europe and high-level delegates of 2 international organizations visited Mongolia. 

After President Elbegdorj thanked citizens for contributing to the National Tree Planting Day and instructed them to take care and water their trees.
