AMBASSADOR S.SUKHBOLD DELIVERS STATEMENT AT THE GENERAL DEBATE OF SECOND COMMITTEE

On 8 October, 2015 H.E. Mr. Sukhbold Sukhee, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations delivered a statement at the General Debate of the Second Committee of the 70th Session of the UNGA.

Ambassador S.Sukhbold emphasized that the Second Committee faced an enormous task to contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. He also underscored the importance of having a robust, inclusive and open mechanism with reliable implementing, monitoring and accountability relations and institutions.

Furthermore, he outlined some key areas that were significant to the Mongolian delegation, including the special needs and challenges of Landlocked Developing Countries, macroeconomic issues, debt restructuring, agriculture, food security, climate change and disaster risk reduction.         

During this session, the Second Committee will deal with important issues relating to economic growth, international trade, international financial system, external debt sustainability, financing for development, sustainable development, poverty eradication, globalization and information and communication technologies for development.
