On December 14, the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution on "Enhancing the role of parliaments in accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals"
The adoption of the resolution was proposed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the 75th session of the UN General Assembly in 2020.
On December 5-6, 2022, the Global Forum on "Education in the field of human rights" will be held in Samarkand. The initiative to hold this prestigious international conference was put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly and the 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council.
What will Phase 5 of the World Program for Human Rights Education consist of? Ideas that can form the basis of the World Program for Human Rights Education will be discussed by the participants of the Global Forum "Human Rights Education", which will be held in Samarkand on December 5-6, 2022.
During the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France, at the invitation of the President of France Emmanuel Macron, the heads of the two states opened two major exhibitions: “The Splendours of Uzbekistan’s Oases. On 15-16 September this year, the city of Samarkand hosted the 22nd summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. It is not by chance that the city which has been the centre of interethnic dialogue, cultural and spiritual cooperation as well as trade and scientific exchanges was chosen for the comprehensive and prestigious event, which attracted the attention of the entire world.
On September 15-16, a Summit of the Heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was held in Samarkand, which became a platform for discussing the state and prospects for the development of cooperation in the SCO's sought-after areas and areas of activity. The summit was the first face-to-face meeting of the SCO leaders since 2019.
