Minister Johnson Smith calls for strengthened partnership with Europe

Senator the Honorable Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, has called for strengthened partnership with the EU and engagement of private sector investors by EU Member States  to facilitate increased trade and investment with Jamaica and the wider ACP group of countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade wishes to advise that it is in active contact with authorities in the Caribbean region, with our High Commissioner in Port-of-Spain, our Consul General in Miami, our Honorary Consuls, with other formal and informal sources, and with several of our nationals, to determine the extent of the loss of lives, injury and damage caused by category 5 Hurricane Irma, which continues its passage throughout the Caribbean.

KINGSTON, Jamaica (JIS) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade launched its 55th anniversary celebrations with the opening of an exhibition highlighting the entity's achievements since 1962.

Portfolio Minister, Senator Kamina Johnson Smith, and Foreign Service Officer in the Ministry's Bilateral Relations Department, Dayton Thomas, cut the ribbon to officially launch the two-week exhibit at the Ministry's Dominica Drive offices yesterday.
