Fijian Prime Minister Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama met India’s Minister for External Affairs, Hon. Sushma Swaraj for a bilateral meeting.
The meeting which took place at the United Nations General Assembly focused on strong ties the two countries have shared over the years.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister acknowledged India’s contribution to Fiji particularly in socio-economic development programs and engagements.
He also highlighted Fiji’s upcoming National Elections, appreciating India’s contribution to co-lead the Multinational Observer Group in November.
In response, Mrs. Swaraj highlighted the importance of India’s engagements with Fiji particularly at global level.
