DIPLOMATS BESTOWED WITH 50TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE MEDALS

Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama on behalf of His Excellency the President of Fiji bestowed Fiji’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mr. Jitoko Tikolevu and Fiji’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Satyendra Prasad with 50th Independence Anniversary Medals at an intimate ceremony held along the margins of COP26.

In congratulating the awardees, the Head of Government said both Mr. Tikolevu and Dr. Prasad deserve to be recognised for their outstanding service in the respective missions they serve and contribution to development in Fiji.

Both Mr. Tikolevu and Dr. Prasad shared the same sentiments of how proud they are to be serving their country in the international arena as civil servants while also acknowledging the support of the Fijian Government, their families, friends and colleagues over the years.

The ceremony was witnessed by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Yogesh Karan and staff who are currently supporting the Prime Minister at COP26.
