In Geneva acquainted with the preparations for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan

At the headquarters of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Trade Centre WTO / UNCTAD (ITC) in Geneva held presentations on the upcoming presidential elections in Uzbekistan. They are organized by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva.

During the event, representatives of WIPO and ITC acquainted with the preparations for the major political events of the year in our country - the presidential elections to be held on March 29, 2015. They also received detailed information about the achievements of our country in the socio-political and socio-economic areas, measures of liberalization and democratization of governance.

It was noted that the preparations for the presidential election is based on the requirements of the electoral law, in the spirit of openness, transparency and democracy. All operating in the country, political parties expressed their desire to participate in presidential elections and to this end, presented to the CEC a package of necessary documents.

It was stressed that ensuring transparency, clarity and transparency of the electoral process is one of the fundamental principles of elections in Uzbekistan. At present, there is an active campaign, which was widely covered in the print media, on television and radio, the Internet.

According to the results of presentations, discussions were held, at which representatives of international organizations shared the opinion that in Uzbekistan rapidly developing electoral system that meets generally accepted democratic norms and principles. According to their estimates, the national legislation of the Republic reflects the main provisions of the universal international instruments on the participation of political parties in elections conditions for the conduct of the election campaign.
