TASHKENT, August 15. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, the Central Election Commission (CEC) has allowed the Ecological Party, the People’s Democratic Party, the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – the Liberal Democratic Party, the Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party, and the Adolat Social Democratic Party to participate in the Presidential Elections in Uzbekistan, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondents Yulia Agafonova and Anvar Ilyasov.
The decision was made at a CEC meeting, chaired by the head of the Central Election Commission Zayniddin Nizamkhojayev on August 14.
At the meeting, the personal composition of the district election commissions and the accreditation of media representatives for the elections were approved.
Candidates nominated to all district election commissions were approved. Thus, the number of their members in 14 constituencies amounted to 266 people, of which 104 are women (39%), 14 are people with disabilities (5%); data is also provided in the context of specialties. 32 lawyers (12%), 21 doctors (8%), 26 engineers (10%), 90 teachers (34%), 41 economists (15%), 11 journalists (4%) and 45 representatives of other spheres (17%).
The draft Resolution on the Accreditation of Media Representatives was also considered at the meeting.
More than 700 media representatives have been accredited.
Political parties have been issued the relevant documents on participation in the Presidential Elections, as well as signature lists in the established number for collecting signatures.
