The PSIDS chairmanship was formally handed over to Tuvalu

The PSIDS chairmanship was formally handed over last week Friday, March 28, 2025, with Vanuatu officially transferring the role to Tuvalu.

His Excellency Mr. Odo Levi, Vanuatu’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, passed the leadership baton to Tuvalu’s Permanent Representative, H.E. Mr. Tapugao Falefou. As part of the annual rotation, Tuvalu now assumes the PSIDS chairmanship for the 2025-2026 period.

The Permanent Mission of Tuvalu to the United Nations wishes to convey its sincere thanks to all Pacific Permanent Representatives for entrusting Tuvalu with the leadership of PSIDS. We also express our deepest appreciation to the Permanent Mission of Vanuatu for their outstanding leadership during 2024, which will have a lasting effect on the direction and work of PSIDS.
