Tuvalu delivered a statement at the Organizational Session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Smooth Transition for LDC Graduation. Speaking on behalf of Tuvalu, PR H.E. Mr. Tapugao Falefou highlighted the importance of ensuring that the LDC graduation framework remains responsive to the unique vulnerabilities of small island developing States and supports a smooth and sustainable transition.

Tuvalu emphasized that graduation must not lead to the disruption or reversal of development progress and underscored the importance of continued international support, particularly in addressing climate and external shocks. As a country preparing for graduation, Tuvalu reaffirmed its commitment to contributing constructively to the Working Group’s process toward a coherent and forward-looking outcome that reflects the realities of graduating countries.
