Tuvalu Reaffirms Commitment to Global Health at 58th UN Commission on Population and Development

The Honourable Mr. Tuafafa Latasi, delivered Tuvalu’s National Statement as the 8th speaker during the opening of the 58th Session of the UN Commission on Population and Development (CDP). In his remarks, Hon. Latasi commended the Commission for the excellent choice of the theme, which is ‘Ensuring Healthy Lives and Promoting Well-being for All at All Ages’.  He emphasized Tuvalu's continued commitment to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3, highlighting the nation's readiness to collaborate with partners in building resilient, equitable, and sustainable healthcare systems that honor the promise of health and well-being for everyone.

Hon. Latasi was joined by the Permanent Representative and Deputy Permanent Representative of Tuvalu to the United Nation, together with the Acting Secretary of Health, who accompanied the Minister to the 58th CPD.

The mission extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Minister for the excellent delivery of such a meaningful and impactful statement, ensuring that Tuvalu’s voice was clearly heard on the global stage.
