Ealier today, Amb. Tapugao Falefou joined virtually from Dallas, Texas, where he is attending the Earth-X Congress of Conferences, and was privilege to join virtually Indonesia’s panel discussion on sea-level rise, where he shared Tuvalu’s perspective on the accelerating risks facing low-lying nations. He reiterated that sea-level rise is a test of global solidarity and a defining challenge for the international system.
Amb. Falefou stressed that the Pacific has shown leadership through collective decisions to safeguard our maritime zones and advance region-driven resilience strategies. He also highlighted that Tuvalu continues to push forward innovative solutions—from coastal protection to digital continuity—to secure our sovereignty and our future.
As the world marks Earth Day, Amb. Falefou reminded of Tuvalu’s call for deeper cooperation, predictable climate finance, and a whole-of-system response that reflects the urgency of this moment. He said that Tuvalu remains committed to working with all partners to build a resilient, just, and secure future for our Blue Pacific.
