At today’s briefing by the COP31 President-designate, Tuvalu highlighted the urgent need to turn climate commitments into tangible action. The statement emphasized the importance of scaled-up, predictable, and accessible climate finance, particularly for countries most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

Tuvalu reaffirmed its commitment to multilateral cooperation and welcomed Türkiye’s efforts to ensure an inclusive and action-oriented COP31. Looking ahead, Tuvalu, together with Fiji, will host a special Leaders’ Event in October to amplify the realities faced by frontline nations and reinforce the urgency of global climate action.

Tuvalu stands ready to work constructively with all Parties to achieve meaningful and forward-looking outcomes.
