Tuvalu joined France and Panama in co-leading the newly launched Ocean Pioneers Coalition, announced during UNGA High-Level Week.
Minister of Home Affairs, Climate Change and Environment, Hon. Dr Maina Vakafua Talia affirmed: “Tuvalu is defined by the ocean. It sustains our livelihoods, shapes our culture, and embodies our very existence. Yet climate change, sea level rise, and unsustainable exploitation threatened our future.”
The Ocean Pioneers Coalition brings together champion countries committed to stronger global cooperation to safeguard the ocean. It reflects a shared determination to work side by side in building resilience and protecting the marine environment for generations to come.
Minister Talia further affirmed: “The Ocean Pioneers is more than a platform. It is a pledge that no nation, no community, will be left behind as we secure the future of our ocean.”
