The Permanent Mission of Tuvalu to the United Nations, through the Permanent Representative, Dr. Tapugao Falefou, on 6 September 2025 was honoured to attend the graduation ceremony at the Capella University, Texas, marking a significant milestone in Tuvalu’s academic and technological advancement. The event celebrated the conferral of the nation’s first PhD in Information Technology, awarded to Dr. Sakaio Manoa.

This historic achievement marks a proud milestone for the nation, reflecting both the growing potential of Tuvalu professionals in the field of innovation and the vital contributions of our diaspora abroad. The Mission extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Manoa for this outstanding accomplishment, which serves as an inspiration for the current and future generations of Tuvalu.
