The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Suriname attended the briefing by President of the General Assembly to hear his priorities for the resumed part of the 76th session.
The topics discussed included the following:
- Vaccine equity; A High Level Event on Galvanizing Momentum for Universal Vaccination” is scheduled for 25 februari 2022.
- Climate change; The transition to blue and green economies, will take place a High-Level Thematic Debate on "Sustainable Recovery from COVID-19 through Tourism" and another Climate Event in October.
- Ensuring peace and security, re-commitment to the principles established in the United Nations Charter.
- Indigenous Peoples: Commemoration of the first International Day for Countering Hate Speech.
- Migratie: The First Migration Review Forum.
- Gender equality within the United Nations in cooperation with the PGA Advisory Board.
- The implementation of the objectives outlined in the Secretary-General's report: Our Common Agenda.
