UNICEF COUNTRY PROGRAMME DOCUMENT FOR MONGOLIA 2017-2021 APPROVED IN NEW YORK

UNICEF Country Programme Document for Mongolia in 2017-2021 was approved at the Second regular session of the Executive Board of UNICEF held in New York on 6-7 September 2016.  

H.E.Mr.S.Sukhbold, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations, who gave a statement at the meeting, highlighted that in the last five decades, UNICEF cooperated fruitfully with the Government of Mongolia  for improving well-being of Mongolian children.

He further underlined that the programme which is ending this year contributed to the improvement of enabling environment for children and enhanced delivery of essential social services for children and commended the new CPD as being developed through a highly participatory processes involving all relevant stakeholders and partners.

Ambassador Sukhbold named the main areas of the CPD for Mongolia in 2017-2021 (Child survival and development, Inclusive, healthy, and quality learning environments, Equitable social policies and protective systems and Programme Efficiency) as timely and supportive to the implementation of social development and child related goals and targets in the Mongolia’s Sustainable Development Vision 2030.

At the same meeting, Country Programme Documents for DPRK, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam from Asia-Pacific region have been approved by the Executive Board of UNICEF.
