H.E. Mr. L. Purevsuren, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia has paid an official visit to India on April 27-29th 2016.
During his visit H.E. Mr. L. Purevsuren met with Indian officials, scholars, business organizations, community representatives as well as representatives of Mongolian students who study in Indian universities. Mr. Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State of Home Affairs, Mr.B Kalita, Member of Parliament and Mr. Rajasekhar, Director General of Indian Council for Cultural relations attended the meeting.
Duirng the meeting with the Mongol scholars, the Foreign Minister briefed on actions of the Government of Mongolia on promoting and supporting Mongol study. The Minister further noted that cooperation in education and culture sectors, particularly close cooperation whtih the Intian scholars had a huge role in strengthening the friendly relations of the two countries. Furthermore Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Purevsuren highlighted that the study the historical sources on Persian language which are in India and organizing a joint exhibition on it could also be one of the possible areas of the cooperation as well.
H.E. Mr. L. Purevsuren, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia presented the Order of “Polar Star”, the highest civilian award of Mongolia, to Dr. Lokesh Chandra and Dr. Mansura Haidar for their valuable contribution to the Mongol study.
