Foreign Minister L.Purevsuren met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Mongolia H.E. Ettore Francesco Sequi upon the presentation of his credentials.

Minister L.Purevsuren noted the importance of expanding and developing the historic relations between the two countries, successfully implementing the planned visits in the near future, solidifying trade, economic and cultural ties and wished the Ambassador success in his future endeavors.

Ambassador E.F.Sequi noted the importance the Italian side places on the bilateral relations and emphasized the opportunities to enhance cooperation in various sectors including economic, cultural and defense sectors. Also, the Ambassador informed that the Italian side is working actively to open an Embassy in Ulaanbaatar.

Furthermore, the sides agreed on starting preparations for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Italian Republic in 2020.
