H.E. Mr. Sukhbold Sukhee, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations made a national statement on 10 October 2016 at the Second Committee Plenary of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly on Agenda Item #20 on “Sustainable Development”.
Ambassador Sukhbold highlighted the recently approved the Sustainable Development Vision of Mongolia 2030, which well mainstreamed with 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development collectively agreed during the UN Summit in September 2015. Furthermore he also highlighted that climate change, sustainable energy, desertification, water, forest and urbanization are most emerging challenges to fully implement the sustainable development goals in Mongolia.
Ambassador also attached a great importance to follow up and review of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development based on Mongolia’s experiences of implementing the MDGs.
