AMBASSADOR S.SUKHBOLD DELIVERED SPEECH AT PLENARY MEETING OF UNGA 70 ON REPORT OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL

On 16 November 2015, H.E.Mr.Sukhbold Sukhee, Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the UN, delivered speech at the 53rd Plenary Meeting of the UNGA 70 on Report of the Human Rights Council.

In the beginning of his speech, Ambassador S.Sukhbold expressed the deepest condolences to the families of victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris last Friday.

Ambassador S.Sukhbold commended that the current report of the HRC revealed the realistic picture of the current human rights violations and challenges worldwide and recommended possible ways and instruments to defend human rights, liberty, equality and dignity and combat intolerance, discrimination and violence.

He further reaffirmed Mongolia’s fundamental position on global human rights issues and informed that at national level, Mongolia would continue to promote the issues of human rights education, gender equality and empowerment of women, the rights of the child, of the elderly and of the persons with disabilities, and fight against human trafficking as well as the issue of abolition of death penalty.  

 Ambassador S.Sukhbold expressed a deep gratitude to Member States for their valuable support extended to Mongolia at the election to the UN Human Rights Council for the term 2016-2018 held on 28 October 2015 and underscored that Mongolia would do its utmost to uphold the trust laid on us and contribute to advancing the cause of promoting and protecting human rights around the world.
