New Ambassador for Japan Presents Copy Letters to Minister Johnson Smith

Minister Johnson Smith congratulated the Japanese businessman turned Ambassador-designate on his first Ambassadorial appointment, noting that his “extensive expertise in the Japanese financial sector will contribute to strengthened economic cooperation between Jamaica and Japan.”

The Minister also reaffirmed Jamaica’s commitment to deepening trade activities with Japan, which currently serves as the largest market for Jamaica’s Blue Mountain Coffee. Jamaica and Japan established diplomatic relations in 1964.
