Extension of the closure of Jamaican borders until 31 May 2020

The Permanent Mission of Jamaica to the United Nations presents its compliments to all Permanent Missions and Permanent Observer Missions to the United Nations and, with reference to previous Notes, has the honour to inform that the Government of Jamaica has decided, in light of the evolving situation concerning COVID-19, to continue to extend the closure of its borders until 31st May, 2020. Consequently, no person shall be permitted to enter Jamaica. This shall not apply to any person, or category of persons, authorized by the Minister responsible for immigration, subject to the approval of the Cabinet. Any such person granted entry will be required to remain in quarantine for a period of 14 days and comply with all applicable directions given and requirements imposed by an authorized officer.

The Permanent Mission of Jamaica to the United Nations avails itself of this opportunity to renew to all Permanent Missions and Permanent Observer Missions the assurances of its highest consideration.
