New Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Andrés Navarro assumes his new post

Santo Domingo.  The new Minister of Foreign Affairs, H. E. Architect Andrés Navarro, assumed his new post on Tuesday during a brief ceremony held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Navarro was sworn by the Minister of the Presidency, Gustavo Montalvo, who described him as a person committed to the country and to the government program and who shares the vision of President Danilo Medina.

The new Minister, who was appointed by President Medina by Decree 332-14, expressed that he is confident that he will succeed in this new challenge and sought the support "of the extraordinary team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."

He said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is one of the key Government institutions that promote the development of the Dominican Republic.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is one of the strategic entities in the development of the country. I want to be an example in this institution of the values ​​that have distinguished President Danilo Medina during his term," he said.

"We will work day and night to display a strong country in terms of international relations," he said.

In addition, the former acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E.  José Manuel Trullols, speaking on behalf of former of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Carlos Morales Troncoso, wished success to the new Government Official.
