On December 12, 2018, the UN General Assembly adopted a special resolution “Enlightenment and religious tolerance” at its plenary session. The document, the draft of which was developed by Uzbekistan, was unanimously supported by all UN member states.

On September 24, 2018, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States Pamela Spratlen, completing her diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov will attend the regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which will be held in Dushanbe city on September 27, 2018.
Foreign ministers plan to discuss the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of State, as well as exchange views on current international and regional issues.
