The Embassy of our country in Islamabad held a "round table" dedicated to the upcoming elections of the President of Uzbekistan. 

It was attended by representatives of official, public, academic and expert and analytical circles, as well as media of Pakistan.

The audience was informed about the preparations for the presidential elections to be held on March 29 this year. They become acquainted with current Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan actions in this process, as well as nominated candidates from the four political parties, included in the parliament. At the same time, were presented the main indicators of socio-economic development in 2014 and the priorities of economic program for 2015.

During the "round table" participants also learned about the beginning of work of new parliament of Uzbekistan. Particular attention was drawn to the report of the President Islam Karimov at the joint session of the Legislative Chamber and Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on January 23 this year.

It was noted that one of the key elements of the strategy development of the country in the medium and long term remains adopted in 2010, "The Concept of further deepening democratic reforms and formation of civil society in the country".

The information presented aroused great interest among the participants. In their speeches, they commended undertaken in Uzbekistan measures to improve living standards and create the necessary conditions for the active participation of citizens in the political life of the country.
