The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade congratulates Senator the Hon. Pearnel Charles Jr. on his recent appointment as Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation (MEGJC).
Minister Charles Jr., had responsibility for the Diaspora and other regional portfolios at the Foreign Ministry, served as Minister of State since April 2018.

To facilitate public understanding of the issues related to the temporary closure of the Jamaican Embassy in Caracas, I feel it important to respond to the ill-informed and irresponsible comments made by the Opposition Spokesperson regarding the Ministry’s announcement.
