I have the honour to deliver this statement on behalf of the fourteen Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Guyana calls for the acceleration of efforts to eradicate the last vestiges of colonialism from our world and for parties to the Western Sahara dispute to cooperate fully with the Secretary-General and each other to achieve a just and lasting settlement

Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Caribbean Community and members of the Caucus of Permanent Representatives were invited to a breakfast meeting to discuss CARICOM-Canada relations and issues of common interest, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, on the margins of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly

 

His Excellency President David A. Granger signed the Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons when it opened for signature on 20 September 2017. The President also deposited the Instrument of Ratification for the Treaty.
