27 September 2011 - At the UN High-Level Meeting on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) held in New York from 19-20 September 2011, Philippine Health Secretary Enrique T. Ona declared the Philippines' support for the international call to strengthen the prevention and control of chronic lifestyle-related non-communicable diseases.   He cited the efforts of the Philippine administration under President Benigno S.
