Current issues of cooperation in healthcare discussed

On June 8, the first videoconference meeting of the Health Coordination Committee of the Turkic Council was held within the framework of implementation of the agreements reached during the extraordinary summit of the Turkic Council to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The meeting was chaired by the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev.

At the meeting, participants exchanged information on the best practices in prevention, diagnosis and epidemiological studies of coronavirus infection, as well as discussed the prospects for joint cooperation in development of new methods for prevention and treatment of the disease.

The parties agreed to conduct, with participation of leading experts, online trainings for medical experts of member countries and observers, a capacity-building program for medical workers, as well as international scientific and practical events via videoconference.

Participants agreed to create a common database and epidemiological monitoring system between countries in the fight against COVID-19.

The parties agreed to organize a business forum on health issues with participation of representatives of public and private sectors from the Turkic Council countries.
