Qualifications: 

Saud Al Shamsi is Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations.  He has been a member of the UAE Mission since July 2013, handling the General Assembly file, Elections, Strategic Partnerships and the UAE Mission's Public Diplomacy and Media section.

Mr. Al Shamsi joined the UAE foreign service in September 2009 and was part of the Strategic Affairs department in charge of strategic projects unit, then joined the European Affairs department as the Desk Officer for the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Previously, Saud has worked as a Marketing Analyst with Dubai Properties Group, Dubai Holding, and a Protocols Officer at the Royal Courts of Ajman, UAE.

Mr. Al Shamsi has a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication & Public Relation, as well as a Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Affairs from Zayed University, a Post-Graduate Certificate from Cranfield University in Strategic Planning and Management, and has graduated as a Public Sector Expert from UAE's Future Government Leaders program.
