New York – As a member of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, the Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations expresses its support for the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as stated by Ambassador Abdullah Al-Muallami at a press conference at the United Nations today, and confirms its strong reservations about the content of the report of the Secretary-General on children and armed conflict.
The UAE has called for a zero-tolerance policy on all parties who fund and support terrorism and extremism.
This came during a speech delivered by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, at the 72nd session of the UN General assembly in New York on Friday.
The UAE has announced its intention to make two financial donations to the United Nations; US$15 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, UNRWA, to help in its basic programmes for Palestinian refugees, and another $15 million will be allocated to support UN Women over the next three years.
