جاء ذلك خلال البيان الذي أدلت به سعادة  السفيرة لانا زكي نسيبة  المندوبة الدائمة للدولة لدى الأمم المتحدة، أمام المناقشة المفتوحة التي عقدها مجلس الأمن الدولي أمس حولمسألة "حماية المدنيين في النزاعات المسلحة "، محدده خلالها ثلاث محاور عمل لتعزيز الإلتزام بحماية المدنيين وبالقانون الدولي، وهي التركيز على الوقاية عند معالجةالأسباب الجذرية للصراع، والاعتراف بأن الصراعات الإقليمية في العالم تحتاج إلى حلول إقليمية، وأخيرا عبر إعادة تنشيط مجلس الأمن، لضمان اتخاذه للإجراءات الكفيلةبالتصدي للنزاعات بما في ذلك متابعة تنفيذ قراراته ليتسنى له مواصلة أداء ولايته ا

NEW YORK – At the UN Security Council on Tuesday, the UAE stated that the failure of the Council to respond decisively to conflict around the world has exacted a profound human toll, and called for a re-energized unity of purpose within the Council and renewed action to maintain international peace and security. The UAE echoed Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres’ statement that the most effective way to protect civilians is to prevent conflicts and to end them.

NEW YORK - In a strong statement to the UN Security Council, the UAE expressed concern with growing disrespect for international law around the world, and particularly in the Middle East, at an Open Debate on upholding international law and the maintenance of international peace and security. The debate was hosted by Andrzej Duda, the President of Poland, which holds the presidency of the Security Council for May.

NEW YORK – The UAE urged United Nations’ agencies and Member States to take collective action to identify countries that support and finance terrorism, and hold them accountable. This call was made at the UN High-Level Meeting on Peacebuilding and Sustainable Peace by H.E. Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State and Head of the UAE delegation to the meeting.
