The Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations invites you to attend a High-Level Breakfast Panel, in partnership with UN Women and the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security (GIWPS), entitled “Gender-Responsive Humanitarian Intervention in the Aftermath of Conflict: A Development Perspective.”

The event will be held on Tuesday, 5 May 2015, from 9:00 to 11:00 in the Delegates Dining Room.

This panel discussion is the fifth installment in a Panel Series on Women, Peace and Security, launched in partnership with UN Women in their capacity as the Secretariat of the Global Study on the Implementation of Security Council resolution 1325 (2000), and GIWPS.
The discussion will focus on the topic of gender-responsive humanitarian intervention, with an emphasis on ensuring that humanitarian inputs should and must be turned into development assets, particularly in relation to the women, peace and security agenda.

This event will feature numerous distinguished speakers. H.E. Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates, will provide welcoming remarks. Kyung-Wha Kang, Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator, will provide the keynote address and moderate the discussion.
