Bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia

On the 26th of March 2015, Tuvalu and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia formalized the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Permanent Representative and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, H.E Mr Abdallah Y. Al-Mouallimi and the Permanent Representative and Ambassador of Tuvalu to the United Nations, H.E Mr Aunese Makoi Simati, signed the protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tuvalu and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Both Ambassadors pledged their countries full support on the Provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 18 April 1061 and commit to further strengthen relations and broaden cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Tuvalu. The occasion also marked a pathway towards fruitful cooperation in the political, economic, technical, commercial and cultural exchanges between the two signatory countries.
