Tuvalu’s voice was represented at the 2026 High-Level Financing for Development (FFD) Forum today, as Ms. Tinai Kepa, First Secretary and Chargé d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of Tuvalu to the United Nations, delivered the country’s National Statement during the General Debate.

In her statement, Tuvalu underscored the urgent need to reform the international financial architecture to better respond to current global challenges, including widening SDG and climate financing gaps. Emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation between international financial institutions, improving access to finance for vulnerable countries, and advancing practical implementation of global commitments.

Tuvalu also highlighted the importance of multilateralism and called for more efficient, inclusive, and accessible financing systems, particularly for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
