The PSIDS Chair welcomed H.E. Ms. Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, former French Secretary of State for Development and candidate for UNDP Administrator, for a candid discussion with PSIDS Ambassadors on the future of development cooperation.

Ms. Zacharopoulou reflected on her experience in climate adaptation and development, emphasizing partnerships, financial innovation, and tailored support for small island developing states. PSIDS representatives highlighted priorities including a full-fledged UNDP presence in the Pacific, improved alignment of UN programming with national systems, and the need for strong, consistent funding to meet urgent development needs.

The PSIDS Chair thanked Ms. Zacharopoulou for her engagement and noted that members will reflect on the discussion and convey their views through their respective capitals.
