Tuvalu at High-Level Events on SIDS & Heritage | UNGA80

Hon. Dr Maina Vakafua Talia, Minister of Home Affairs, Climate Change and Environment, delivered keynote addresses at two important High-Level Events: Supporting Small Island Developing States and Low-Lying Coastal States and Preserving Heritage & Culture Amidst Sea-Level Rise.

The sessions highlighted the urgency of protecting vulnerable nations and safeguarding cultural identity in the face of climate threats. On the sidelines, Minister Talia also signed an MoU with the Jacques Rougerie Foundation to support cultural activities in Tuvalu, strengthening cooperation between partners committed to resilience and heritage.

Tuvalu expressed deep appreciation to the Global Centre for Climate Mobility (GCCM) for convening these timely discussions that placed island priorities at the heart of the climate agenda.
