Repatriation of Sri Lankans

  1. Consular assistance is provided to Sri Lankan Citizens to be deported by the US Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). INS Officials are kindly requested to contact the Consular Division for necessary instructions.
  2. Deportees who need to be issued travel documents require the following.
    • Passport application (Form “K”)
    • Photo signature card (IM 35B) with two colour photos
    • Declaration forms (Form D – 1 & D-2)
    • Removal order from the Immigration Judge.
    • Travel particulars of the deportee.
    • Money order for US $ 60.00 payable to “Embassy of Sri Lanka”
    • Return Postage
      • Federal Express             – $ 20.00
      • US Postal Express Mail – $ 18.00
      • International mailing fee – $ 35.00
  3. Fees should be paid by Money Orders or Certified Cheques made in favour of “Embassy of Sri Lanka“. Please note that personal cheques will not be accepted.
  4. In the event that either party are unable to complete the relevant applications, this Embassy may be contacted for necessary instructions.

Notes

  • This Embassy is not responsible for any document lost in the post.
  • Submission of forged documents and making false declarations relating to citizenship is a punishable offence. Fees will not be refunded in these circumstances.
  • Incomplete applications will be rejected.
