PR-UN participated in New York City Junior Ambassadors Program organized by the New York Mayor’s Office for International Affairs, an initiative focused on empowering 7th graders in all five boroughs of New York City to become actively engaged with the United Nations and its mission.

Ambassador Perera visited a 7th Grade classroom at Michael J. Petrides school in Staten Island and shared insight on his role as Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the United Nations, as well as the role of the UN in maintaining international peace and security. He was joined by New York City's Commissioner for International Affairs, Ms. Penny Abeywardena.
