The Dag Hammarskjöld Library is pleased to announce a new initiative to bring our popular library training online. The training will be conducted in English and offered virtually via Microsoft Teams in August and September as follows:
- Introduction to UN documents - Online (25 August 2020, 10am Eastern)
- Using the Yearbook of the United Nations - Online (10 September 2020, 11am Eastern)
- Introduction to UN documents - Online (15 September 2020, 10am Eastern)

2020 informational meetings with Member States to discuss issues relating to language services
In accordance with the established practice mandated by the General Assembly, the Department for General Assembly and Conference Management holds informational meetings with Member States each year to consult with them on the improvement of language services and to provide a channel for communication on terminology issues and on the quality of services rendered. The 2020 language-specific informational meetings will be held in August, according to the following schedule:
Arabic: Tuesday, 25 August, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Session 1);
Chinese: Tuesday, 25 August, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. (Session 2);
English: Wednesday, 26 August, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Session 3);
French: Wednesday, 26 August, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. (Session 4);
Spanish: Thursday, 27 August, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Session 5);
Russian: Thursday, 27 August, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. (Session 6);
